OKARA Brownie (OKARA Sweets)

gSho-jin Ryouri (Cooking)hmeals, served for monks at temples, has developed for a long time because Kyoto has many temples from old days.
Tofu is one of the typical ingredients for the meals. And OKARA is the ground-up byproduct that results from the production of Tofu. It is the excellent health food in nutrition, being rich in protein and dietary fibers.

Ingredients:

Cocoa Powder

50g

Baking Powder

Walnuts 100g 15g

Preliminary:
  1. Roast walnuts under 190Ž in the oven
  2. Heat OKARA in the frying-pan to evaporate their moisture until becoming like powder.
  3. Shift Cocoa-powder & B.P.
  4. Pre-heat the oven to 170Ž
  5. Line with non stick baking paper (Place the oven sheet).

Directions:
  1. Combine Crushed-Chocolate with Butter in a large bowl and melt them completely onto boiled water (or by microwave oven)

  2. Add Sugar, Salt, and beat it well.

  3. Add Beaten-egg little by little and mix well each time.

  4. Add Milk and mix well.

  5. Add OKARA-powder and mix well, stirring with a spatula.

  6. Add shifted Cocoa-powder & B.P. and mix roughly. After almost (80%) mixing, add chopped Walnuts.

  7. Pour mixture (1{2{3{4{5{6) into the square pan.instruction
  8. Bake at 170Ž for about 25mins. until a wooden pick inserted comes out clean.

  9. Remove from the pan, cool and cut in.
