Street Fair Food for Japanese Summer Festival〜
Yakisoba (Japanese Stir-Fry Noodles),
Takoyaki (Octopus Dumplings),
Goheimochi (Grilled Rice Cake)
 
Yakisoba (Japanese Stir-Fry Noodles)
Ingredients:
 4 packs Stir-fry noodles (steamed Chinese-style wheat noodles)
 200g thinly sliced pork, 2Tbsp.vegetable oil, 300g cabbage, 50g carrot,
 2 small green bell peppers, 1 pack bean sprouts,
 5~6 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce (Yakisoba sauce)
 Aonori( seaweed), dried bonito fish, ginger pickles

Directions:
1. Cut pork, cabbage leaves, green peppers thinly. Cut carrot into julienne strips.
  Wash bean sprouts and drain.
2. Heat the oil in a frying pan and saute the pork and vegetable over medium heat
  until tender. Put and fry noodles for 3 min. over medium heat.
3. Season with sauce and mix it.
4. Serve on plates, topping with aonori and so on.  yakisoba


Takoyaki (Octopus Dumplings)
Ingredients:
 
Batter: Mix 100g flour, 1 egg and 350ml water and be recommended
      to keep it in fridge for an hour.
Fillings: 100g boiled octopus, cut into 1cm square, 50g chopped cabbage,
      10g chopped scallions, 20g Tempura crisps
Takoyaki sauce or Yakisoba sauce, aonori(seaweed), dried bonito flakes, mayonnaise

Directions:
1. Warm up iron plate and oil the surface.
2. Put the batter into half of hole.
3. Then put octopus and other fillings into the hole.
4. Add the batter full.
5. When begging to bake the surface, turn over takoyaki with pick.
6. Quickly form like ball (The batter which is out of hole, put into hole
  with pick and turn over often.)
7. Serve on plate and put sauce    . takoyaki


Goheimochi (Grilled Rice Cake)
Ingredients:
 330g cooked rice, 1Tbsp flour
Sauce: 30g ground sesame seeds→20g peanuts (or walnuts) →20g sugar
           →20g miso →1 Tbsp sweet sake(mirin) →1Tbsp soy sauce

Directions:
1. When rice is hot adding flour, lightly mash it with a wooden pestle.
  Divide 4 portions, and shape into balls
2. To make sauce; Mash ingredients with a wooden pestle in the order written above.
3. Grill rice cakes on a cooking grill until light brown...
4. Brush brown sauce generously on them.     goheimichi
